GPA Submits Amicus Brief

In early May, the Georgia Chapter of the American Planning Association submitted an Amicus Brief in the case of Druid Hills Civic Association, Inc., et. al vs. DeKalb County Planning Commission, et. al. to the Georgia Court of Appeals GPA asked the court to reconsider this case based on is great important to historic districts and planning communities throughout Georgia. While this case has a lot of history and other details, GPA along with the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation asked for resolution of this case based on its core substantive issue: can a planning commission approve a sketch plat for a subdivision and cul-de-sac on a property within a historic district without a certificate of appropriateness from the historic preservation commission?
