Redesigning Cities – Parks as Social Infrastructure

The event hosts a presentation and conversation between leading urbanists that addresses 21st Century urban challenges. GPA members will benefit from hearing Maurice Cox, Architect and Planning Commissioner of Detroit, and Mitchell Silver, Parks and Recreation Commissioner of New York City and former APA president discuss redesigning parks as social infrastructure. This event is bringing 2 significant speakers from around the country to speak about parks as social infrastructure. They will talk about their experience and provide their own ideas in a presentation, conversation, and Q&A format, but also relate it to Atlanta. Ellen Dunham-Jones hosts and introduces the event as well as monitors the Q&A.
