DESCRIPTION:In honor of International Women’s Day 2023\, the Georgia Planning Association Equity\, Diversity & Inclusion Committee presents The Gendered Conversation: A Virtual EDI Symposium featuring \n\nKeli Kemp\, AICP\, PP\, Modern Mobility Partners\nSonia Hirt\, FAICP Dean of the University of Georgia College of Environment + Design\, and\nEllen Bassett\, Dean of Georgia Tech’s School of City and Regional Planning.\n\nThis first symposium intends to help shed light on and provide space for dialogue and education on important diversity and equity-related topics\, focusing on women and BIPOC in planning practice and education. One of the priorities of the EDI Committee is to expand our outreach to broader\, younger\, and more diverse people in the hopes of generating interest in urban/community planning and related professions. \nFor some context\, the theme for International Women’s Day 2023 is “Imagine a gender-equal world. A world free of bias\, stereotypes\, and discrimination. A world that is diverse\, equitable\, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality.
