SUMMARY:50th Anniversary First Friday
DESCRIPTION:On October 11\, 1968\, GPA was registered as a non-profit organization. Over the coming year\, we will be celebrating this golden anniversary\, and plan to first kickoff that celebration with the November First Friday happy hour. \nOver the years\, GPA and Georgia Tech’s planning program have each taken the lead in organizing First Friday events. GPA\, the Georgia Tech Student Planning Association\, and GPA’s Emerging Planners Group (EPG) will be co-hosting this event at Fado Irish Pub in Midtown Atlanta. \nFado is two blocks from the Midtown MARTA station and a Tech Trolley stop\, and deck parking is available in Metropolis. So stop by and catch up with some old planner friends\, and make a few new planner friends while you’re there. All GPA members and planning students are welcome to attend\, and we will use this opportunity to recognize the service of past and incoming board members.

Chris is also an adjunct professor at Emory University\, teaching a class on Public Health and the Built Environment with joint enrollment from Emory public health students and Georgia Tech planning\, architecture\, and engineering students. DESCRIPTION:CPI: Preparing and Implementing your Comprehensive Plan \nThe DCA Office of Planning\, in partnership with the Georgia Planning Association\, offers a class called the Community Planning Institute to Georgia’s planning commissioners\, elected officials and local government staff. The Institute provides information about planning for land use\, growth and development. \nPreparing and Implementing your Comprehensive Plan is a 2-day class that covers the local planning process.
