SUMMARY:First Thursday Virtual Webinar: Healthy Cities

SUMMARY:First Friday Professional/Student Networking Event
DESCRIPTION:Our First Friday networking event between practicing professionals and students is back! Only this time\, you can build those connections from the comfort of your couch. Registration will close on Thursday November 5 at 5:30 pm so we have time to assign groups\, and we’ll have a limit on participants so be sure to sign up soon. \nOops! We could not locate your form.

SUMMARY:Just Sustainabilites in Urban Policy\, Planning and Practice
DESCRIPTION:In his talk\, Julian Agyeman\, Tufts University\, will outline the concept of just sustainabilities as a response to the ‘equity deficit’ of much sustainability thinking and practice. SUMMARY:Housing Assistance and Neighborhood Conditions: Lessons Learned from the U.S. and Canada
DESCRIPTION:Prentiss Dantzler\, Georgia State University\, will discuss how housing costs are causing many people to wonder if they will be able to afford to stay in their homes. As a result\, many countries have tried to address housing affordability by providing financial assistance to those who cannot pay their monthly housing expenses on their own. Because the government serves as the landlord\, many have questioned whether or not the government should supply housing for those who cannot afford it given the neoliberal turn of state intervention. \nLearn More and Join the Event
