Description of Job / Position
The Coastal Regional Commission is seeking applications for a Grant Specialist/ Planner. The position will consist of identifying funding opportunities and in preparing and processing grant applications and project funding for local, state and federal grants available to regional and local governments. Oversee the preparation, development, submission and follow-through administration of grant applications. Be able to research and analyze technical information; write proposals, maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, marketing presentations and contract administrative duties.

This position will also assist with developing comprehensive plans, strategic land use strategies, planning policies which achieve sustainable economic, environmental and social outcomes.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors of Arts or Bachelors of Science degree in urban planning or related field.
Skills: the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, reason and work independently, read, interpret and apply laws, rules and regulations, work under pressure to meet deadlines, manage several projects simultaneously, and interact with local government officials, CRC departments and other agencies as a team player to coordinate projects. PC based software, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
