Bus Stop Planner II

These duties are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive, and do not include marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of the essential job functions.

  • Identifies and coordinates new bus stop locations, relocations, removals, and other necessary changes; adjusts stop locations as required by service modifications.
  • Maintains data in the bus stop database, including attribute data and GPS coordinates.
  • Conducts field investigations and responds to issues at bus stops found through customer, staff, and stakeholder requests; prepares work orders, maps, written reports, and analysis as necessary.
  • Assists with plan reviews to assess the effects of transportation and development projects on bus stops. Conducts analysis and prepares supporting documentation.
  • Maintains state of good repair for bus stop infrastructure through field surveys. Prepares any documentation and work orders required.
  • Works closely with staff and management in Transit System Planning, External Affairs,
  • Marketing, Facilities Maintenance, Bus Operations, Safety, and Information Technology to address issues related to bus stops.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Geography, GeoScience, or another related field.
  • Two years of increasingly responsible professional experience in transit operations and/or service planning.
  • A master’s degree in one of the above areas or a related field may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Must be expert in conducting research and analysis. Must have good verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must possess good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Personal computer experience with word processing, project management and spreadsheet application required.
  • Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) such as ArcGIS, Trapeze scheduling software, and database management experience is preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, year-for-year experience may be substituted.

Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $47,518 – $71,276
