Permit/License Technician

This position is responsible for participating in and providing skilled clerical and customer service support to the permitting, inspections, development review, city’s license, and tax operations functions of the department.

Job Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of city codes and ordinances and building codes.
  • Basic knowledge of plan review principles.
  • Permit Technician, PZ/6
  • Knowledge of the operations, services, and activities of a permitting and inspections program
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of city and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. Knowledge of city business license policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Basic skills in accounting, record keeping, and filing.
  • Skill in prioritizing, organizing, oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of such office equipment.
  • Skill in the preparation of clear and precise reports.
  • Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
