Description
This is a Transit Service/Operations Planner position located within the Cobb County DOT Transit Division. This position compiles, analyzes, and maintains transit system performance measures statistics, such as revenue hours and miles, ridership, etc. for monthly and annual transit performance reports. This position also maintains the inventory of transit bus stops and passenger amenities and conducts field assessments of bus routes, stops, and amenities. The position reviews route alignments and ridership make recommendations for bus route and schedule adjustments and reviews transit service requests and transit propensity that may require new or adjusted service. The position also involves oversight of vendor partners and management of projects that help maintain and improve the functionality of transit amenities, the CAD/AVL system, and other elements of CobbLinc Service.

This position will work heavily in Microsoft Office, GIS, and other pertinent transit-specific software to collect and review transit operations data. This position will work closely with DOT Planning, staff in other divisions and departments, and collaborates with local and regional partners on projects of regional significance, and improve and coordinate service.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Regional Planning, or related field required, a Master’s Degree is preferred; supplemented by five years of experience in planning, zoning or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Salary & Benefits
$50,414.15 – $63,016.93
The hiring range is not expected to exceed the midpoint salary which is $63,016.93.
