Description

• Assist in the development of planning studies, transportation corridor studies, comprehensive transportation plans, comprehensive plans, and multi-modal studies
• Collect a variety of statistical data and prepare reports and maps on topics such as census information, land use, tax base data, and occupancy rates
• Create opportunities for effective public engagement and gather input from stakeholders
• Prepare PowerPoint decks and planning reports to present the information in a clear, user-friendly manner
• Conduct field evaluations and assessments
• Attend evening meetings as necessary

Job Requirements

• 0 – 4 years of experience in transportation planning
• Bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning/Urban Planning/Urban Design
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning and relevant specialization such as land use/zoning, transportation planning, urban design, and community development
• Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection
• Experience in grant writing and administration, economic development, and public involvement programs (preferred)
• Ability to adeptly organize and manage multiple deadlines and projects
• Self-motivated and ability to apply independent judgement with limited supervision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow, along with a positive team attitude
• Strong GIS knowledge (preferred)
• Strong computer skills – MS Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp
