SUMMARY:Local Wetlands Protection Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The UGA River Basin Center and UGA School of Law Land Conservation Clinic will co-host a Local Wetlands Protection Workshop at the Delta Innovation Hub at the University of Georgia. \nThe US Supreme Court Sackett decision has sharply reduced federal protection of many wetlands. However\, counties and municipalities concerned with loss of their wetland resources have multiple options for local management. This workshop will cover: \n\nBackground on wetlands and the federal wetlands regulatory system\nHow the legal landscape is evolving\nOptions for local government wetlands protection\, including model ordinances and conservation programs\n\nCounty and municipal government officials\, representatives of watershed NGOs\, and others are welcome. \nRegister Here
