The mission of the EDI committee is to promote more inclusive, just, and equitable communities through a planning profession as diverse and inclusive as the many communities we serve, and to equip planners to perform inclusive planning and work effectively across diverse communities.   

Engaging students supports the mission by introducing youth of all backgrounds to the profession.  Learning about planning may inspire students to become planners someday or to become involved in planning efforts within their communities. Reaching out to HBCU students and Middle/high school students will broaden the horizons of many students who otherwise may not consider the profession. The committee has a PowerPoint template and other resources that volunteers can draw from.
