Health Impact Assessment Workshop

August 23, 2011 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Around the country, communities are confronting threats to their health and quality of life – high rates of chronic disease, unhealthy food choices, stress, economic challenges, and few opportunities for an active lifestyle, as well as overwhelming medical costs and a growing elderly population. Increasingly, they are seeking to solve these threats by changing the places they live, work, and go to school.

The fundamental goals of HIA are to ensure that public decisions account for their consequences to human health and to help shape those decisions to promote and improve population health.
