Jerry Weitz & Associates, Inc., a 25-year old planning and development consulting firm based in Alpharetta, GA, is seeking letters of interest from planners with a minimum of two years local government zoning experience interested in assisting the firm with ongoing work contracts with several local governments, especially in northeast Georgia. Work is anticipated to be part-time and by contract. Work will entail preparation of reports for rezoning, variance, and conditional use applications, review of development plans, issuance of permits, entry of cases in permit systems, zoning administration, and related current planning tasks. Attendance at night meetings and occasional work on client sites may be required. Additional functions such as comprehensive planning and zoning code amendments and impact fee work are also possible. Proximity to Jackson County, or Gainesville and Athens, GA, and willingness to travel to client sites in the NE Georgia region are desired. This is an unprecedented opportunity to receive training and learn from a veteran planner and to potentially take on independent, progressively responsible roles in the future.
