Description
Lumenor Consulting Group is seeking an Senior Planner (Planner III) who enjoys working directly with clients and coordinating with multi-discipline team members on complex transportation projects. This position leads the technical production of planning assignments, from concept development through project completion, and may serve as a task manager or deputy project manager on multiple statewide, regional, and local transportation planning projects. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skillsets to execute complex assignments or research independently and with minimal oversight. The Senior Planner will also participate in proposal development by reviewing Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements and assisting in developing scopes of work and technical write-ups.
- Under minimal direction, leads or assists in technical tasks and assists in task management services for a variety of transportation planning and urban/community planning projects.
- Provides significant contributions and/or task leadership in the production and review of plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents, while coordinating and integrating contributions from team members.
- Leads, prepares, and reviews graphics and technical reports or key components of technical reports, and assists with work plans, scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to RFPs.
- Coordinates with clients, sub-consultants, and in-house personnel on a regular basis to complete assigned tasks.
Performs GIS data collection, map and graphics production, and QA/QC of maps. - Leads or significantly contributes to public involvement and stakeholder engagement by developing presentations and facilitating the dissemination of project information to the community.
- Assists in delegation of work, guidance, and mentoring of junior staff.
- Recommends process and system improvements that result in greater efficiencies, enhanced capacities, and improved service delivery.
- Supports department managers and office leadership with strategic planning and other special projects.
- Supports Environmental and Cultural Resources projects as needed.
- Occasional attendance/participation at evening or weekend outreach events, municipal board meetings, conferences, or other events associated with job duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field and 3-5 related experience as a Planner including experience as a Project/Task Manager for transportation planning projects
- Experience with Esri ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, or related applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
- Proven ability to deliver work within time constraints, in teams and individually
- Effective organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take ownership of activities and work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in Transportation Planning, Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or related field and 3-5 years related experience as a Planner including experience as a Project/Task Leader
- Experienced working with Esri Suite
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data analytics tools or programs
- Experienced skills in professional industry technical document writing and public speaking, including client and public presentations
- Experienced in effective client relations and coordination with other client consultants
- Organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills related to transportation planning projects
- Experience and/or familiarity with project cycle processes; from planning to closure and maintaining all project assignments through to completion and on schedule, with an understanding of the unique requirements of transportation planning
Salary Range
$77,000 – $87,500
