2025 GPA Mentor Program Wraps Up Another Successful Year

The 2025 GPA Mentor Program wrapped up this year’s cycle with a fantastic sixth and final virtual session – Planning with Social Media – on June 17 led by Johnita Daniel. The GPA Mentor Program continued its hybrid format this year to maximize participation. Program sessions were tailored to the interests of participants and included zoning administration, grant writing, and planning with social media. Participants also got the chance to participate in the CPI 260 assessment with Suzanne Kirk, President & Executive HR Consultant of Employee Development Strategies, Inc.

The GPA Mentor Program aims to connect planners across all career stages and enhance professional retention in Georgia. Since its inception in 2014, over 100 participants have benefited from the program. Each year, the format and content are refined based on participant feedback and external factors, typically following a six-month schedule with monthly sessions. The shift to a virtual format in 2020 increased statewide participation, leading to the adoption of a hybrid model. The program’s content is customized annually to align with the interests of the participants as indicated in their applications.

The Committee is already hard at work crafting next year’s program with a few exciting changes in the works! If you would like to be a part of the program as a Committee Member, Mentor, or Mentee, please email Mollie Bogle.
