Building Back Better Starts with Planning

We are now shifting to strategic planning for next year’s state session, as well as federal advocacy. As GPA President-Elect, I sent our policy positions to Senators Warnock and Ossoff. I was thrilled to spend an hour with Senator Warnock’s transportation lead, discussing a range of priorities and possibilities for collaboration. I also attended a small group meeting with Senator Warnock here in Savannah as a local housing advocate. I was able to promote several of APA’s policy positions, including support for equitable infrastructure investment, funding for active transportation and broadband, planning for climate change, and specifically the Housing Supply and Affordability Act (HSAA). The HSAA is an exciting opportunity to update zoning and development codes, create housing action plans, and promote equitable housing. Learn more about APA’s federal legislative priorities here
