District 5 News: Color Us Creative – Macon Mural Walk and Social Hour

On Thursday, April 30, 2026, members of the Georgia Planning Association’s District 5 partnered with the Macon Arts Alliance to bring regional planners and community members together for a walking tour of murals in downtown Macon. The tour, guided by Maria Andrade, Project Director, showcased the artistic expressions of muralists from far and near. The walk spotlighted downtown Macon’s growing collection of public murals while offering a social hour for regional planners to connect. The artwork showcased during the tour is a result of the annual “Macon Mural Festival” presented by the Macon Arts Alliance. The festival aims to pair national and local muralists with businesses to create open-air gallery spaces, catalyze economic development, and establish a lasting sense of community identity and pride.
