Georgia Statewide Historic Preservation Plan Survey & In Person Meetings

The Georgia Historic Preservation Division (HPD) has begun work on the updated Georgia Statewide Historic Preservation Plan (SHPP). Each State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) is required by the National Park Service to create and implement a SHPP. Up to this time, our state plans have been completed in 5-year increments. The current plan will expire in 2026: Georgia Statewide Historic Preservation Plan 2022-2026. This time around, HPD has elected to create a 10-year plan for 2027-2036.

Please take a moment to share your thoughts on the current state of preservation in Georgia and its future. You are invited to take an online public survey, which is open through Friday, November 28th.
