Georgia Tech ScARP Student Places 1st in GeoGuessr World Championship
Radu Casapu, a graduate student in Georgia Tech’s School of City and Regional Planning, recently won $50,000 and 1st place in the 2025 GeoGuessr World Championship in Copenhagen, Denmark. Radu’s love of geography and competition led him to compete.
The game GeoGuessr challenges players to identify specific locations using Google Maps Street View in a race against the clock, with the World Championship tournament bringing together the world’s 16 top players.
After completing his master’s degree, Casapu will pursue a career as a planner at the city or regional level.
