GPA/GAITE Joint Meeting (District 3 Event)

On Thursday, August 15th, GPA and the Georgia Chapter Institute Transportation Engineers (GAITE) held a joint meeting and luncheon. The event featured a panel of speakers from metro Atlanta governments talking about the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. More than 100 people attended the event, held at City Springs Conference Center in Sandy Springs. Attendees represented a range of public and private sector members of both professional organizations, as well as non-members.

GPA’s Chapter President, Kristen Wescott was one of the panelists, representing the City of Sandy Springs, where she serves as the Transportation Services Unit Manager. Other speakers included Jerry Oberholtzer, Division Director of Transportation Planning for Gwinnett County Department of Transportation and Andrew Lewis, a Project Manager in the Office of Capital Delivery at the Atlanta Department of Transportation. Panelists discussed their respective projects funded through the SS4A program and offered insights into the application process, the planning process, and implementation. Thank you to all who attended!
