GPA Mentor Program Kicks Off 8th Year
The GPA Mentor Program held its first meeting of 2022 with a new group of Senior Mentors, Mid-Career Planners, and Emerging Planners. We are so excited to have 17 participants from five of the nine GPA Districts this year to bring diverse perspectives from around the State. The mentoring committee is creating a program of six monthly meetings, tailored to touch on topics the participants identified in their applications. In January we had the pleasure of hearing from our Senior Mentors, Elizabeth Backe, Corey Hull, and Liz Sanford, as they shared their thoughts on current planning issues and career growth within the planning field. Our February meeting will feature a review of participants’ CPI 260 assessment, which is a management and leadership self-assessment tool.
The Mentor Program has included more than 105 of the State’s Planners over the last eight years. We accept applications annually in September for a program that runs from January to June.
