This position reports directly to the City Manager and requires a variety of administrative, technical, and professional skills in preparation and implementation of economic development plans, programs, and services. The incumbent develops and implements area-specific and city-wide strategic economic plans to revitalize distressed commercial corridors, improve business development, and promote business retention and expansion. The incumbent addresses barriers to economic growth and job creation/retention, and increases local and international economic opportunities for the City of Riverdale.

This is an entry-level, full-time position assisting with the development and maintenance of the region’s transportation planning program, as part of the staff to the Gainesville-Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO).
Under the supervision of the Community Development Director, this position acts as the lead staff reviewer on planning issues for the City of Duluth involving annexation, zoning and variance issues including but not limited to ordinance amendments, special use permits and conditional use permits; grants; and community development issues.
