Grant Writer

The City of Hinesville is accepting applications for a Grant Writer. This position is responsible for providing grant writing and coordination services for the Community Development Department.

Bryan County Building Inspector

The purpose of this classification is to enforce the County’s building codes and zoning ordinances by reviewing building permit applications, checking building plans, and inspecting construction sites for code compliance, and issuing building permits and certificates of occupancy. Reports to the Planning Director.

Planner I

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for assisting senior planning staff in gathering and organizing information used in planning studies and reports, reviewing development proposals, evaluating rezoning petitions and ordinance amendments, and working with a variety of stakeholders on neighborhood plans.

GIS Analyst

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for the development and maintenance of the Geographic Information Systems used by the Augusta Planning and Development Department. The person in this position coordinates GIS mapping and related database projects, uses GIS to analyze a variety of factors affecting development, such as land use, infrastructure and the environment, and evaluates new GIS and related application technology.

Transit Planner

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for completing transit planning work tasks as part of the Augusta Regional Transportation Study (ARTS). Under the general supervision of the Strategic Long Range Planning Manager, develops transit plans, identifies funding sources, prepares grant applications and completes various administrative tasks.

Planning & Zoning Administrator / GIS Technician

This multi-faceted position administers zoning and subdivision regulations, the primary tools used by the City to guide City objectives to accomplish stated goals; assists with development of short- and long-range planning projects, updates to the City’s comprehensive plan and short-term work program, redevelopment plan for improvement areas.
