Performs work of considerable difficulty in the review of plats and construction plans for compliance to county codes related to planning, zoning, subdivisions and development. Technical work in interpretation of zoning and development regulations. Provides customer service to citizens, developers and others.

Building Inspector

Performs technical work in the inspection of building plans and construction for compliance with all applicable ordinances and standards. Coordinates and provides guidance and supervision to Inspectors.

Planning Technician

This is a full-time position with a large, multi-disciplinary engineering firm performing work as a contract agent of the City of Chamblee, Georgia, a culturally diverse urban municipality with approximately 27,000 residents. The Planning Technician will report to the Director of Development, who is also a fulltime employee of Jacobs Engineering Group.

Planning and Zoning Administrator

The purpose of this classification is to oversee land use planning and zoning activities in unincorporated areas of the County and to provide technical assistance to County Officials. Ensure the orderly development of The County, effects of the quality of economic opportunity for County residents, and affects of the overall image of the County.

Planner I – Economic Resilience Development

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for performing complex, professional-level assignments involving the design and implementation of economic and building development programs. Under the supervision of the Planning and Development Director, this person researches all relevant data sources and makes recommendations for implementation of specific development projects.

Planner II

This position is responsible for current planning review to include zoning and subdivision review, comprehensive planning, long range plans, capital budgeting, transportation planning, and related type work.

Principal Transportation Planner

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for completing transportation planning work tasks as part of the Augusta Regional Transportation Study (ARTS). Under the general supervision of the Strategic Long Range Planning Manager, this person coordinates elements of the long range transportation plan, including research and analysis related to roads, public transportation, rail, freight and non-motorized transportation modes.
