2013 GPA Fall Conference in Review

Location: Jekyll Island
Jekyll Isand and the Golden Isles of Georgia hosted a gorgeous Fall Conference this year that was a tremendous success for our attendees! Attendees fought the urge to run out to the beach and enjoy the gentle breezes while sitting in the meeting rooms, but they stuck it out through new tracks on healthy communities, climate change adaptation, new local comp planning rules and of course ethics. Several attendees were able to stretch their legs and take a bicycle tour around the island or to go on a shrimping vessel and learn about our impacts on the ocean as well as partake in some fresh caught shrimp! The Young Planners Group, hosted a well-attended reception after the conference that allowed for a little extra networking from planners of all experience levels.
