Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 6 for the 2019 Georgia Archives Symposium. This year’s topic, “Land Use in Georgia: Urban Planning and Neighborhood Change in the Peach State,” will feature individual and panel presentations, plus a student performance and lunch slide show of images from collections at the Georgia Archives.

Symposium topics include public park development and the evolution of public space; cartographic ‘layering’ to trace the planned and unplanned development of areas over time; public and business reactions to governmental zoning and development changes; and the impact on communities in evolving areas of Georgia.

The event is free and open to the public.
