Two Georgia Projects Receive National APA Awards
Gwinnett County, Georgia received the Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan for the Gwinnett County 2045 Unified Plan. This plan reimagines the “15-Minute City” in a suburban setting and creates a framework for ‘daily communities.’ The plan addresses challenges ranging from rapid growth and demographic change while improving access to housing, transportation, and community spaces.
The City of Clarkston received the Advancing Diversity & Social Change Award in Honor of Paul Davidoff for the Clarkston Greenway Feasibility Study. Prioritizing access to nature, health, and mobility, this study explores potential trail locations to better connect residents. As the most diverse square mile in U.S., community engagement ambassadors translated materials into 10 languages, ensuring broad linguistic accessibility and cultural relevance.
Congratulations to Gwinnett County, City of Clarkston, and their project partners!
