Tri-state Watershed Symposium (CM | 4.0)

September 22, 2011 - September 23, 2011

“We’ll get through it, but the era of cheap and abundant water is over.” -Bill Holman

Once considered an unlimited resource in the Carolinas and Georgia, protecting both the quality and availability of water is becoming an ever increasing challenge. To offer a forum for discussion of these critical issues the first Tri-state Watershed Symposium was held in 2003 as part of the South Carolina Environmental Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The event has grown in size and scope. It is now known as Confluence the Interstate Water Issues Conference, and for the past several years has rotated between North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

The primary goals of this conference are to foster communication and resource sharing among the three states and discuss emerging issues and key regulatory programs. Invited guests have included representatives from state and federal regulatory agencies, utilities, academia and industry. Past conferences have focused on water rights, water regulations, sustainable planning, and climate change.

This year’s conference is in Greenville, SC from September 21 – 23. The website is www.confluence.cc, and there is on-line registration.
